Charles Fazzino Helps Weave Country Music Into The Fabric of New York City With CMA Awards Artwork
By Wendy Pearl

Charles Fazzino, noted 3-D pop artist and creator of limited edition fine art serigraphs, was commissioned by CMA to create official artwork commemorating "The 39th Annual CMA Awards." Fazzino is the first artist selected as the Official Artist of the CMA Awards and his creative interpretation of Country Music in the Big Apple will grace the cover of the official CMA Awards Program Book.

"I am proud to have been selected by the Country Music Association to commemorate this incredible music spectacular," Fazzino said. "I'm a big fan of Country Music and I'm so happy that CMA is bringing their premier event to my hometown this year. It's truly a thrill and I hope that my image succeeded in weaving the essence of Country Music throughout the fabric that makes up the great city of New York."

Fazzino's 2005 CMA Awards "full-sized" artwork, which was used on the cover of the Program Book, was adapted into an official 3-D Limited Edition Giclee Fine Art Print and Open Edition Fine Art Poster - including signed and numbered, limited edition pieces that are available to order online by visiting www.CMAawards.com.

The limited edition "mini-sized" artwork can be seen throughout New York City on signage promoting the CMA Awards. This artwork is also featured on the 2005 CMA Awards collector's ticket and Awards T-shirt.

An art exhibition featuring Fazzino's CMA Awards piece and other art from his collection will be held at the Barrington Gallery of London Ltd., at 572 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on Thursday, Nov. 10 (6:00-9:00 PM/ET). The work will be on display at the gallery through the month of November.

The 2005 CMA Awards will be broadcast live, Tuesday, Nov. 15 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the CBS Television Network from Madison Square Garden.

Fazzino is the most popular 3-D pop artist in the world today. He is best known for detailed renderings of New York City's most famous streets and attractions, his obsession with bold colors and his unique, hand-assembled layering technique that virtually brings his images to life.

"I've been known for doing a lot of pieces having to do with New York and using the Big Apple motif," he said of his inspiration for the piece. "I thought that was the perfect way to bring across the feeling in an easy way and to really mesh the two together.

"So, I chose the apple and it turned out to be a very exciting image to look at. Originally, I wanted the Award to be the stem of the apple, but I ended up dropping it down to really focus in on it, which brought out the feeling of the two shapes," he continued. "Your eye is drawn to the apple then you see the sculpture. Everyone loves it."

The official artwork is available in several forms and price points:

.Fine art poster, on bright white gloss premium paper stock, 18"x 24" unframed. $15 unsigned, $25 signed by Fazzino.
