Dierks Bentley performed at Rosenblatt Stadium on June 16th 2005 for the College World Series festivities in Omaha Nebraska. In order to review Bentley's show, I had to withstand three of the worst opening acts. (That's an understatement) At some points I began to wonder if Dierks was even going to be worth waiting these opening acts out. I couldn't even decipher what the opening acts were singing. Thankfully, Dierks Bentley was worth the wait. Bentley added so much to the College World Series and it was a perfect way to start off the games. I've got to say though, shame on Dierks for mentioning Arizona State to a whole crowd of Nebraska fans - The justified boos from the fans were expected, but at least he didn't get booed for his singing. By the way, thanks a lot Dierks - You jinxed our Huskers.
Bentley had a great set and he is a great performer. Bentley performed his hits: "My Last Name," "What Was I Thinkin'" and "How Am I Doin'" and really just got the crowd involved. Bentley also performed his new single, "Lot Of Leavin' Left To Do" along with some other songs from his new album including "Come A Little Closer" and "Cab of My Truck." "Come A Little Closer" was one of the highlights from the show. "Come A Little Closer" would be a great single for Bentley possibly after "Lot of Leavin' Left To Do." All in all, Bentley was certainly the main attraction at the College World Series JAM. Bentley made the concert Jam worthwhile- All four opening acts combined had nothing on Dierks Bentley. - Janelle Landauer
