The trio will perform for Hurricane Relief Efforts on Good Morning America on September 9 and ReAct Now: Music & Relief on MTV, VH1 and CMT on September 10
September 08, 2005 - Nashville, TN - Sugarland's debut album was released less than one year ago and Jennifer Nettles, Kristen Hall and Kristian Bush are "thrilled and excited" that the music industry and country music fans have embraced their music. While at CMT's studios in Nashville yesterday, the trio of singer/songwriters from Atlanta, GA watched the live coverage of the announcements in disbelief as they received three CMA nominations. "This is very surreal," says lead singer, Jennifer Nettles. "I can't believe we are nominated in 3 categories Horizon, Group of the Year and Single of the Year for 'Baby Girl.' I feel like we are living out the story of 'Baby Girl' and we're almost to the bridge but we aren't sending money home yet. It takes a long time." Kristen Hall comments, "For the first time, I truly understand what people mean when they say it's an honor just to be nominated. This is awesome." Kristian Bush only has three words to say, "Madison Square Garden."
Even with the excitement of Sugarland's CMA nominations, immediately following the announcements they were confirming plans for a Good Morning America appearance on Friday, September 9, where they will perform their powerful song with a message of hope entitled "Stand Back Up." Sugarland is very mindful of the Hurricane Relief Efforts and the devastation the South is experiencing. They will also perform on ReAct Now: Music & Relief which will air on MTV, VH1 and CMT on Saturday, September 10 from 8:00-11:00PM ET. |
