Sugarland logs longest running single in country music history
May 24, 2005
Sugarland's debut single "Baby Girl" spends its 46th week on the Billboard Top Country Singles chart this week, making it the longest running single in the history of the monitored chart era. The previous record was held by Diamond Rio's "Beautiful Mess" and Tim McGraw & Faith Hill's "Let's Make Love" (both at 45 weeks). As previously noted, Sugarland, whose debut disc Twice The Speed Of Life just went GOLD, also logged the highest charting single by a new group in 14 years. The Atlanta-based trio is enjoying two singles in the Top 15 this week as their current hit "Something More" enters the Top 10. |
